East Midlands-based housebuilder Peveril Homes has donated over £500 to Packington Church of England Primary School to help with the purchase of a set of new books.
The books are a mix of classic children’s fiction for primary-aged kids and will assist with learning and reading development in the school across all ages.
One of Peveril’s latest developments, The Paddocks, is situated in the heart of the Leicestershire village of Packington, and the Derbyshire-based housebuilder was keen to make a difference within the local community in which it is building by giving something back to the younger generation.
“Wherever we build, we always try to make a significant contribution within the local area in some way” said Director of Sales and Marketing Alison Kendall. “Primary schools sit right in the heart of any community, so we’re only too happy to work in partnership with Packington Church of England Primary School and help with the purchase of these new books.”
Carol Price, Headteacher at Packington Church of England Primary School was grateful for the offer of support from Peveril Homes and recognised the difference these new books will make to the children to assist with their reading and literacy skills. Carol said: “Reading is essential to any child’s development at such a young age.
“As a school, we are always grateful for any support like this because funding is always tight in the education sector. The new books have been really well received by the children and they cannot wait to get stuck into them!”
