This comes after a recent Checkatrade report revealed that the UK needs another 1.3 million skilled workers and 350,000 apprentices to plug the industry’s growing skills gap. The insulation specialist says that a targeted campaign to get young people into construction, along with a larger focus on offsite construction, which can build homes up to 30% quicker, is what is needed to achieve the New Town’s programme.
