INCA’s flagship event, the INCA Awards 2020, was virtually streamed on 24th November 2020, in line with current Government Covid-19 recommendations, celebrating projects that achieved outstanding innovation, quality and excellence in External Wall Insulation (EWI).
It culminated in an exciting ceremony with 70 virtual guests in attendance presented by new INCA Chairman Marcus Alcindor. The Awards celebrate excellence in the external wall insulation industry and showcase the work of INCA members and the broader sector. Entries filtered in from all over the country and were to an extremely high standard.
After some tough decision making INCA is pleased to announce the winning projects for this year’s awards. Projects were recognised for their innovative design and exceptional quality. Particularly prominent this year was the use of brick and clay slip systems; a real alternative to traditional masonry and a fantastic opportunity for building designers to match existing and immediate brick surroundings. The newly introduced ‘Architectural Merit’ Award enabled special recognition for non-members wishing to showcase splendid examples of projects utilising External Wall Insulation.
The shortlisting was finalised on the 7th October, when the judges narrowed down the entries to four/ five entrants per category. The final judging took place a week later at the Hilton Puckrup Hotel in Tewkesbury and INCA Members were informed of the outcome at the virtual Awards which took place on the 24th November 2020.
The recipients of the awards were all able to demonstrate energy efficiency and visually pleasing aesthetics.
The categories consisted of New Build, Refurbishment, Architectural Design Architectural Merit, and Innovation. The winning entries are as follows:
