Fairgrove Homes is encouraging local schools to promote applications for its 2019 apprenticeship scheme.
Ilkeston-based homebuilder Fairgrove Homes is continuing to invest in the future talent of the housing industry as the company welcomes applications from students at local schools for its 2019 apprenticeship scheme.
The family-run business is re-running its established apprenticeship programme which has provided exciting opportunities for students from several East Midlands schools in recent years. The vacancies this year include craft apprenticeships in joinery, bricklaying and decorating, as well as office-based apprenticeships in marketing and business admin and management trainee degree apprenticeships.
Fairgrove Homes is now welcoming applications from both male and female 16 and 18 year old school leavers through its website for its 2019 cohort with the company’s Managing Director, Steve Midgley, keen to see more women joining the construction industry.
“Annually, more and more young people are exploring the option of apprenticeships. They not only provide on-the-job training but also include off the job training at no cost to the applicant or their parents – leading to an industry-recognised qualification which in the case of the homebuilding sector, open doors to a well-paid career with great future progression opportunities,” said Steve.
Fairgrove Homes’ recorded an apprentice retention rate of 100% in 2017 and 2018, with all of the company’s recruits successfully progressing within their chosen careers in the homebuilding industry.
Steve concluded: “We believe we are one of the few homebuilders locally that invests in young talent, with such opportunities proving rare for school leavers in the East Midlands. We would encourage local schools wishing to register interest in our apprenticeships on behalf of their students to apply via our website in order to avoid disappointment.”
