Energy Assets Utilities (EAU) has launched a recruitment drive to support its build back better campaign.
The utilities design and construction company has welcomed four apprentices and created a number of new openings ready to meet pent-up demand created by pandemic restrictions.
“Over the last year, our focus has been on supporting customers as effectively as possible within tight working rules,” said Karen Robinson, EAU Regional Operations Director, based at Birstall near Leeds, “but with stronger market signals and a growing order book we are now investing at pace in our build back better programme.”
Amongst eight immediate opportunities are openings for multi utility project managers covering London, South East and South West England – regions targeted for expansion by the business. The project manager roles are pivotal in the company’s build back better campaign, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
EAU has also transformed its recruitment process to take account of current COVID restrictions, creating a new EA Recruit portal that makes it easy for candidates to interact remotely with the company and to track their application progress online.
Using this process, the company has recruited several new business development managers for housebuilding and industrial and commercial markets. These posts coincide with long-standing contract renewals and a pipeline of major infrastructure projects across the country.
For EAU, build back better also means developing new areas of business, including the fast-growing renewables market. The company has created a specialist team connecting gas peaking plants, solar arrays, wind farms, battery storage and innovative hybrid variants to the national grid. These projects provide a short-term boost to electricity supply at times of high demand.
Karen said: “We are seeing strong demand for work linked to the green revolution, whether that’s connecting embedded generation schemes or constructing commercial and residential EV charging infrastructure. These projects will only grow in volume as the pace quickens on the road to net zero.”
