Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air Conditioning Europe (MHIAE) has introduced its next-generation residential air conditioning range, the ZT Series.
Building on the proven performance of the ZS Series, the ZT range has been re-engineered with a refined design to deliver higher energy efficiency, simplified installation and servicing and low noise operation. The indoor units will be available in three elegant colour options, while the outdoor units will come in two finishes, including the highly sought-after Jet Black.
Mass production of the ZT is now in progress and will be available for installation in Summer 2026 projects.
The ZT indoor units incorporate a newly designed heat exchanger, a high-efficiency fan motor, and an enlarged fan blower diameter, achieving better airflow to deliver a long reach of up to 11m. In addition, the ZT Series offers two silent operation modes – Silent and Ultra Silent. In Ultra Silent mode, sound levels are reduced by up to 9dB achieving noise levels as low as 36 dB(A) while still maintaining the unit’s powerful performance.
Achieving higher SEER and SCOP ratings than the ZS range, the ZT units set a new benchmark for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, ensuring users benefit from reduced energy costs and a lower carbon footprint. The ZT also maintains efficient operation at nominal heating capacity even when outdoor temperatures fall to -10°C.
The ZT indoor unit has been carefully refined to deliver a sleek, contemporary profile. The smooth, uniform shape and new flush side profile allow for a closer fit to the wall, maximising space efficiency while creating a clean, unobtrusive appearance.
To suit modern interiors, the ZT indoor units are available in three colour finishes: Snow White, Matte Texture Black, and Titanium Black, with outdoor units offered in Stucco White and Jet Black. The range spans five capacities, from 2.0 kW to 5.0 kW, providing flexibility for various room sizes and applications.
Ease of installation has been a key design focus. A new rigid installation board and improved structural rigidity allow for minimal wall gaps and greater precision in mounting. For servicing, the fan blower and air grille can be easily removed for cleaning without disassembling the heat exchanger or controller, helping to reduce maintenance time and cost.
The ZT also introduces a new optional downward-piping outlet at the bottom of the indoor cover, giving installers greater flexibility and convenience during setup.
Looking ahead to the industry’s refrigerant transition, the ZT series has been designed with future low-GWP refrigerants in mind. The unit’s internal layout includes dedicated space for additional safety components, ensuring adaptability and long-term compliance with future regulatory standards.
