Terra Strategic has secured an agreement to promote a five-acre site for residential development in the West Oxfordshire village of Aston. The land could accommodate 40 new homes and associated infrastructure.
Terra will work with West Oxfordshire District Council and Aston, Cote, Shifford and Chimney Parish Council to explore the provision of new housing which could best suit the needs of the village. The five-acre site, which is currently designated for grazing, will then be promoted through the Local Plan process.
James O’Shea, Managing Director of Terra Strategic said: “West Oxfordshire’s traditional housing stock is considered largely unaffordable to those on lower incomes. However, the demand to live there – and benefit from the quality of life the scenic area offers – is exceptionally high. This site could deliver high quality Public Open Space for the enjoyment of all, together with much-needed new homes.
“We are looking forward to working with all the local stakeholders to promote the benefits this land opportunity could deliver to the community of Aston and the Parish. More well-located sites need to be brought through the planning process so that quality new homes can be delivered to meet the needs of locals and those wishing to relocate.”
