Redrow secures planning consent for 205 new homes in East Hoathly

Wealden District Council has granted planning consent to leading housebuilder Redrow for 205 new homes in East Hoathly, East Sussex.

The 12.6-acre site will be transformed into Paddock Green, comprising 133 homes for private sale. Meanwhile, the remaining 72 homes have been earmarked as affordable homes, available through shared ownership or affordable rent.

The homes available for private sale at Paddock Green will range in size from two- to five-bedrooms, all from Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection, which combines the charm and architecture of the early 20th century arts and crafts movement, with spacious and modern interiors.

In line with Redrow’s commitment to creating sustainable communities, Paddock Green will have EV charging points installed on site for residents to charge their electric vehicles and all homes will be heated via Air Source Heat Pumps featuring underfloor heating as standard.

Alongside the homes being delivered, Redrow will also be contributing to the local community and local services, including improvements to community transport services and upgrades to infrastructure within the district. Green open space has also been designed into the community and Redrow will be further contributing to a youth and adult outdoor play space.

Stuart Galloway Head of Sales at Redrow Southern, commented: “It is exciting to have planning permission granted for Paddock Green and a great step forward in our expansion across the Southern region. With construction starting soon, we are looking forward to launching our newest development and delivering our first completion in East Hoathly”

“East Hoathly is a friendly community with a lot of charm, perfect for house hunters who are keen to escape the city hustle and bustle for a more relaxed way of life. The surrounding green areas and local amenities also make this community highly sought after. As a result, we anticipate the homes at Paddock Green will be incredibly popular among prospective buyers, particularly families.”

Located in the town of East Hoathly, Paddock Green is surrounded by multiple open green spaces, including Park Corner Heath, a local nature reserve. Furthermore, the community sits right on the doorstep of High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with multiple walking routes for residents to enjoy. There is also a local recreational area with space for tennis, cricket and football to be played.

The town is home to a number of local amenities, restaurants and pubs, including the award-winning pub, The Kings Head. Paddock Green is also favourably located for those looking to commute into London, with direct trains into London Bridge taking just over an hour from the local train station, Uckfield.

The first homes at Paddock Green are set to launch to market in summer 2023.

Redrow Southern is the housebuilder’s newest regional division, creating thriving communities across Surrey and Sussex. Communities with homes available to purchase include Lavant View, New Fields, with Manor Place due to launch to market soon. The newly appointed team is pursuing an ambitious land and planning strategy to deliver its highly sought-after homes across these commuter hotspots.
