A Worcester land parcel has been sold to a developer to make way for nine new homes.
The 1.24-acre plot on Sherwood Lane, just three miles from the city centre, comprised a former school premises, most recently used by the library service as a car park and playing fields. It was placed on the market with Harris Lamb’s Residential land agents on behalf of Place Partnership and Worcestershire County Council.
The site was allocated for residential use and Signature New Homes has recently obtained planning and purchased the land to redevelop into and provide nine three and four-bedroom properties.
James Willcock, of Harris Lamb’s Residential land team, said: “This site occupied a prime location close to the city centre within an established residential area. The site already had a residential allocation within the South Worcestershire Development Plan, with the relevant planning approvals being secured, Signature New Homes is now committed to redevelop the site and provide much needed quality housing for the region.
“The resulting housing development will benefit from an area of green open space adjacent to the scheme, as designated by the Development Plan, and is located close to local amenities with excellent access links to the city centre and beyond.
“We are thrilled to have secured another land sale within the Midlands to a proactive housing developer, providing new quality housing in a popular location,” he added.
