Neath-based construction firm Hale Construction has won a £5.1m contract to build 32 units in Brecon for Powys Council.
The innovative scheme, comprising a mix of flats and houses, is Hale’s first ever contract for Powys council and is part of a drive to provide more council housing in the area. Work will begin in mid-February.
Andrew Collins, contracts manager for Hale said: “The project consists of building 32 properties and associated works. Once complete, it will provide high-quality housing that demonstrates a significant improvement on the current building regulations standards therefore reducing heating bills and improving living standards. These properties will be a fantastic addition to Powys housing stock. We look forward to working with our local supply chain partners to provide employment and training opportunities throughout the project.”
