The stunning rural location of Rippon Homes’ eagerly awaited Eleanor Gardens development in Navenby was key to the interior design of the recently revealed showhome. Hannah Stelling, Creative Director at Etch Interiors, explains.
“The beautiful rural location of Navenby was our starting point to decorate the four-bedroom Richmond showhome. It’s a gorgeous area that successfully combines traditional stone-built houses with modern individual properties and the balanced nature of this village was something we wanted to represent with our interior design.
“We decided to reflect the location by blending the outside environment with the interior design; offering a sense of new beginnings and freshness by bringing garden themes into the home. Our approach was to use natural materials and textures to balance the vibrant yet soothing energy of green tones. This included big, bold feature walls covered with sumptuous wallpaper designs which were offset by neutral browns and creams. We also used a clever layering of pattern, textures and natural wood to deliver the garden concept. Introducing plants and greenery to the living space creates a stress-free environment and a haven from the rigours of modern-day life.”
Another key consideration with Rippon homes is family life. Close to the main playing fields and community hall, the Eleanor Gardens is perfectly positioned for families to become integrated into this charming village where an OFSTED rated Outstanding primary school is found. The homes offer flexible spaces that every family member can enjoy.
“We wanted to create relaxed dining spaces where the household would come together for family meals. The other rooms would have an emphasis on cosy living to create an environment where everyone can spend time enjoying each other’s company but can also escape to their little sanctuary.
“The designs work on two levels; stylish and contemporary for the grown-ups, fun and exciting for the youngsters. A place where everyone looks forward to coming home and where they are happy to spend time.
“We particularly enjoyed working on the children’s bedrooms. I love the explosion of creativity, safe in the knowledge our designs will make someone smile. The girl’s bedroom is themed around a little corner shop. Wallpaper and fabric were sourced to portray it as a street scene and even the bed can be turned into a shop for playing. For the boy’s room, the theme was an adventure with a rock-climbing wall and even a bridge over lava to create an imaginary world of fun and excitement. The whole space works as one through cleverly chosen angular designs, colours and accessories.
“We like prospective purchasers to walk in the door and immediately feel at home but in an aspirational way. A tour of the showhome is an exciting journey of discovery as they move from room to room, loving the last space and eager to explore the next area.”
Ian Dyke, Managing Director of Rippon Homes added, “We’re incredibly proud of our stunning showhomes and the lifestyle they portray and love the way Hannah and her team took the opportunity to tie the interior with the gorgeous exterior setting of Navenby. With both aspects as lovely as they are at Eleanor Gardens we don’t foresee these homes remaining on the market for much longer!”
