Bargate Homes launches £32m Hamblewood Scheme in Hedge End

Bargate Homes has released the first tranche of homes for sale at its £32m Hamblewood development, located in the well-connected Hampshire town of Hedge End. A collection of the 123 eco-efficient family houses and apartments will be ready to move into within the next few months.

With just 38 private homes remaining for sale, prices for the three- and four-bedroom family houses – located off Heath House Lane – range from £385,000 to £460,000. The homes are being constructed to EPC-B standards, enabling purchasers to benefit from Green Mortgage rates. The Home Builders Federation recently reported that buyers of a newly built home save on average around £2,600 in annual energy bills – a figure that is set to rise when the Energy Price Guarantee changes.

Andrew French, Sales and Marketing Director of Bargate Homes, said: “The three- and four-bedroom homes at Hamblewood represent the best value new homes for sale across East Southampton and the Borough of Eastleigh. In line with Bargate Homes’ eco-focus, the high specification exceeds building regulations. These beautiful homes offer refined contemporary living and creature comforts such as underfloor heating, stylish kitchens and bathrooms, and a choice of quality flooring options included as standard.

“With the cost of renting continuing to rise, Hamblewood offers those looking to climb onto or up the property ladder an opportunity to move into a brand-new home of their own within a matter of months. Reservations are currently being taken, with local people and those keen to move to Hedge End snapping up their preferred house design and plot. Our sales team is on hand seven days a week to provide prospective purchasers with lots more detail about this popular new development.”

Bargate Homes’ Hamblewood scheme overlooks ancient woodland, with direct links to the adjoining Manor Farm Country Park, where you can stroll along the picturesque banks of the River Hamble.

The collection of traditional brick homes feature heritage design details such as on-trend pastel paint shades on the front doors and garages. The bespoke contemporary fitted kitchens are installed with a range of integrated Neff appliances. All bathrooms and en-suites will have Porcelanosa wall and floor tiling. Google Nest learning thermostats, electric vehicle car chargers, and fibre broadband, will be installed as standard.

Bargate Homes has worked with nationally acclaimed architects and masterplanners RPS Group to ensure Hamblewood fully complements Hedge End’s array of traditional residential properties. The design approach for the new homes reflects the architectural styles found locally, featuring red brick facades, dentil courses, and herringbone detail with gables. Car parking is either provided on plot, via driveways and garage spaces, or within shared parking courtyards. Visitor parking bays will be dispersed across the site, and there will be ample secure cycle storage to encourage cycle ownership and usage.

New public open spaces will be created across the development, enhancing the character of the area, and delivering both recreational and ecological benefits. Green buffer zones will be created along the southern boundary to provide a valuable amenity function and retain and enhance local wildlife corridors. There will also be native tree and shrub planting to benefit local bird populations. Bat and bird boxes will be installed within the walls of new dwellings.

Hamblewood is a short drive to the M27, which provides convenient connectivity across the south of England. Southampton city centre is only six miles away from Hedge End, while the attractions and events held at Fareham can be reached in 10 miles. Nearby Hedge End train station provides regular six-minute services to Eastleigh town centre, while direct trains to London Waterloo take approximately 90 minutes.

Established in 2006, Bargate Homes builds select developments in prime locations within Hampshire, Dorset, and West Sussex. The company is currently delivering 900 homes across six live developments and has a pipeline of future sites expected to deliver in excess of 2,500 new homes.
