North East housebuilder Avant Homes has been given the go ahead on a new £47.4m development, after planning permission was granted by North Tyneside Council.
Located just off the A1056 in north-west Killingworth, the 20.86-acre development will feature 200 high-quality homes across a selection of Avant Homes’ design-led two, three, four and five-bedroom housetypes. There will be 14 housetypes to choose from and 38 affordable homes will also be included across the development.
Work on the development, named Cygnet Park, is set to commence immediately with the showhomes expected to open in March 2020 and the first homes due to be ready for occupation in May 2020. The overall build is expected to take five years.
In addition to providing high-quality homes for the area, Avant Homes will also contribute £635,000 towards transport infrastructure, highways improvements, the provision of open green spaces and a new children’s play area.
Avant Homes North East, Regional Director, Jennifer Tupman, said: “We’re very pleased to have planning permission to deliver 200 innovative and design-led homes in Killingworth. We’re always actively seeking development site opportunities in the region, which are ideally suited for a wide range of buyers. The North East has so much potential and has a real need for innovative, high-quality new homes that meet the need of today’s purchasers. Cygnet Park not only helps to deliver on our strategic growth plans for the region but also contributes to job opportunities and strengthens investment within the area.”
It has been announced that Cygnet Park will feature the company’s very latest house designs and specification.
Killingworth’s Cygnet Park is one of 11 developments currently under construction by Avant Homes North East delivering more than 2,000 new homes for the region. The housebuilder’s portfolio stretches from Acomb in Northumberland to Guisborough in Tees Valley.
