Avant Homes has unveiled plans to deliver a £47.4m development of 200 homes in the village of Somercotes, Derbyshire. The company acquired the 20-acre site in April this year.
Subject to planning approval from Amber Valley Borough Council, the development will comprise a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and feature 16 of Avant Homes’ design-led house types.
Properties will range from a two-bedroom mid-terrace house to a five-bedroom detached property. Of the 200 homes planned, 30 per cent will be designated to affordable housing.
If given the green light, initial groundworks are due to commence this autumn with the first residents expected to move into their new homes in spring 2023.
Avant Homes Central Managing Director, Chris Coley, said: “Somercotes is a highly sought-after area, and this site is an excellent opportunity to deliver much-needed, high-quality homes in a prime residential location in Derbyshire.
“Subject to planning, our aim is for this development to build upon the success of our recently sold-out Babington Quarter development, located close by in South Normanton.
“This is a testament to our commitment to delivering our sought-after homes in excellent locations throughout Derbyshire. We look forward to receiving the planning decision in due course.”
