Family-owned housebuilder Briar Homes has officially started work on its new residential development in Kennoway, Fife, and has announced its name: Weavers View.
The £40 million project will deliver 123 new homes for sale, alongside 14 homes for social rent on behalf of Fife Council.
This marks Briar Homes’ first development in Fife, offering a mix of three- and four-bedroom homes designed to meet growing demand for family-friendly, energy-efficient housing in the region.
The newly announced name, Weavers View, pays tribute to Kennoway’s historic weaving industry, reflecting the village’s artisan past when weaving, shoemaking, malting, and brewing were key trades for local residents. The development is located on the eastern edge of Kennoway, north of Levern Road, with excellent access to nearby Leven and Methil, local schools, and scenic green spaces including Kennoway Den.
To celebrate initial enabling works and construction, Colin Bennett of the Housing Growth Partnership joined the Briar Homes team on-site at the development.
Paul Kelly, Managing Director of Briar Homes, said: “We’re excited to reveal the name Weavers View as we start work on-site. Kennoway has a rich history and a strong sense of community, and these new homes will provide much-needed housing for first-time buyers and growing families. The name celebrates the village’s heritage while looking forward to its future.”
Briar Homes prides itself on creating vibrant, thriving communities. Its expansion into Fife follows a £10 million funding package recently secured from Bank of Scotland, supporting the creation of 310 new, energy-efficient homes across several Scottish sites, including current developments in Barrhead and Kennoway.
Groundworks are now underway, with the first phase of homes expected to be available for sale early 2026.
