Caddick Construction moves into the residential sector

Caddick Construction has been appointed onto the EN:Procure Affordable and Mixed Tenure New Building Housing Framework for Yorkshire and Humber which is led by Efficiency North.

The £340million framework will offer a leading-edge supply chain of construction companies delivering site preparation, remediation, civil engineering and infrastructure works, design, new build construction, refurbishment and the development of a variety of properties.

As a strategic move for the company, Caddick Construction has appointed Richard Greenwood as its new Residential Development Manager with responsibility for managing and growing the company’s foothold in the housing sector.

Richard brings with him more than 23 years of construction experience, latterly with Kier Living and as a Board Director at Southdale Ltd. He successfully led frameworks with the Homes and Communities Agency and Innovation Chain North West.

As well as delivering mixed-tenure open market sales and affordable homes, Richard’s experience includes land acquisition, legals and planning, project management and quantity surveying.

Richard said: “The construction market focus has moved to beds and sheds and with Caddick’s extensive experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, design and build, it was a logical move to expand into the residential sector.

“Securing a place on this £340million framework is fantastic and we look forward to working with Efficiency North and its partners to deliver high-quality social housing and regenerate local communities across the region.”

Caddick Construction completed its 2018/19 financial in August in a strong position, delivering award-winning flagship projects such as the £42million Emerald Headingley Stadium.

Andrew Murray, Managing Director at Caddick Construction, said: “2019 has proved very successful and we are in a great position with a strong pipeline of projects and a number of recent contract awards of over £200million.

“Staff retention is at an all-time high and we have made a number of recent strategic board appointments, strengthening our leadership team. We are delighted to welcome on board Richard Greenwood, who has extensive experience in delivering new homes around the UK. He will be a real asset to the team as we grow our residential arm of the business.”
