Bellway helps movers sell their old home in less than half the regional average time

Home movers in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire have been helped to sell their old homes in less than half the average selling time for the region, thanks to a local housebuilder.

Bellway’s Express Mover scheme sees the housebuilder working with a local estate agent to find a buyer for a customer’s home as quickly as possible, as well as paying the estate agent fees.

Across Bellway’s Northern Homes Counties division, which includes developments in both Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, customers using the scheme over the past three months have found buyers for their old homes in an average of just 17 days.

This figure compares to the regional average of 47 days to sell in the South East of England, which covers Buckinghamshire, and 43 days in the East of England, which covers Bedfordshire, according to Rightmove’s House Price Index for May 2021.

Luke Southgate, Sales Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “Our Express Mover scheme typically outperforms the traditional housing market in securing a quick sale.

“As a well-respected and long-standing housebuilder, we have well-established connections with agents across the region and know the market inside-out. This helps us to identify the right agent, as well as agreeing the right price on the mover’s previous property.

“The scheme speeds up the sales process, while achieving the maximum value for the property. Our buyers also have the added bonus of Bellway paying the agent’s fees, therefore saving them thousands of pounds.”

The Express Mover scheme is available to use at Bellway developments across the division, including at Wavendon View and Wavendon Chase in Wavendon, near Milton Keynes, and at Brambleside in Houghton Regis and Berry Wood in Wootton.

Luke said: “The scheme is a valuable tool for anyone looking to move to a new-build home, while wanting to secure a quick sale of their old property.

“Demand for new houses has been consistently high over the past few months across the region, due to reduced stamp duty tax and people’s priorities changing following the pandemic.

“Using Express Mover is undoubtedly a faster and more efficient way to sell a home, as demonstrated by the speed at which our customers found their buyers compared with the regional average.”

There’s a choice of four-bedroom houses available at Wavendon View, with prices starting from £455,000, while there’s a range of three and four-bedroom houses and one-bedroom apartments at Wavendon Chase, priced from £217,500.

Meanwhile, at Brambleside in Houghton Regis, three and four-bedroom houses start from £385,000, while the four-bedroom Wootton is available to reserve at Berry Wood in Wootton from £460,000.
