Nearly half of homes sold at Derbyshire development

Nearly half of the homes for sale at a new housing development in Hartshorne have been sold, as the new neighbourhood begins to take shape.

Bellway is building 116 new homes at Woodland Rise, off Woodville Road, including 86 houses for private sale and 30 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

With construction work progressing well, 16 private homes and seven affordable homes have already been completed and occupied, with many other private sales also taken by Bellway.

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “Demand for this development has been strong from the outset.

“Housebuyers are impressed by the mix of high-quality homes we have on offer, as well as the development’s location on the edge of a lovely village. The entrance to the site gives a wonderful view of rolling hills and fields.

“Woodland Rise offers the best of both worlds with its village setting and proximity to both Ashby de la Zouch and Swadlincote for a choice of schools, shops and leisure facilities.

“The first buyers have now moved into their new homes and there is already a strong sense of community among these residents.”

Woodland Rise is part of a wider new neighbourhood of up to 400 new homes in Hartshorne, which is set to bring significant financial investment in local infrastructure and facilities, as well as a proportion of affordable homes for local people.

Marie said: “This site is one of the first to feature Bellway’s flagship Artisan Collection in the Midlands. This new range of houses, which has been produced as a result of two years of development and decades of customer input, combines traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail with the very latest construction techniques.

“We’ve had incredibly positive feedback about the homes within the Artisan Collection – in particular, housebuyers like the big windows which let in a lot of natural light. The houses are also cleverly designed to make the most of the available space, both inside and outside the property.

“Families have also been attracted to the open-plan kitchen/dining rooms, which are a great use of space and provide a real focal point for the home.”

There is a range of three and four-bedroom homes currently available to buy at Woodland Rise, with prices starting from £215,500.
