Lovell to build £15m development in Somerset

Lovell reveals plans for £15m contemporary homes development on the Somerset coast.

Housebuilder Lovell has revealed plans for 50 new homes on the southern outskirts of Weston-super-Mare.

The £15 million development – Keepers Gate – will feature 35 three- and four-bedroom homes for open market sale by Lovell, while 15 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes will be affordable properties for Liverty, the south-west’s largest housing association.

Lovell Regional Managing Director Kate Rees said: “We’re thrilled to have acquired this fantastic site which is minutes from stunning Somerset countryside and just a short distance from the imposing sweep of Weston Bay, with views stretching across the Bristol Channel to Wales.

“Our new properties will make the most of their amazing setting, featuring light-filled contemporary interiors, perfect for modern lifestyles. We’re confident they will appeal to a range of purchasers, including first-time buyers, downsizers and families looking to upsize at Keepers Gate.”

The two-year construction programme is set to start this winter, with the first homes set to become available for sale in December 2018. Lovell will create a number of training opportunities through the development, including apprenticeships and work placements.
