Green light for over 200 new homes in Greater Manchester

Redrow has been granted planning permission to build more than 200 new homes in Cowlishaw, between Royton and Shaw, Greater Manchester.

Work has already begun to clear the site, off Cocker Mill Lane in Cowlishaw, which will eventually feature 201 new homes and five acres of green space, including a new orchard.

Claire Jarvis, Managing Director for Redrow Lancashire, said: “Our new development will provide a better way for people to live, with homes of a high quality being built alongside green areas where residents can spend time outdoors. These natural spaces will include a community orchard as well a pond and other habitats where native wildlife can thrive. New footpaths will also link the properties to neighbouring fields and woodland, while a tree-lined boulevard will run through the centre of the development.

“Our homebuyers have told us they also prioritise private outdoor space, particularly post-pandemic, so many of the homes will be detached with gardens and driveways.”

Planning consultants Ryan and May managed the reserved matters planning application on Redrow’s behalf, which also includes 21 two and three-bedroom affordable properties.

All the new homes will hail from Redrow’s Arts and Crafts inspired Heritage Collection, in a range of three to five-bedroom designs.
