East Midlands development set to open

A new homes development which is taking shape opposite The Avenue Visitor Centre in Wingerworth is set to open its doors soon.

Mill Fields, based off Mill Lane, will bring 80 new two, three and four-bedroom houses to the village once complete, including 12 affordable homes for local people through shared ownership or rent.

The Ashberry Homes development will also include landscaped public open space and a new car park and storage facility for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to the north of the site.

As part of the planning agreement for the homes at Mill Fields, Ashberry Homes is contributing over £227,000 towards local schools, £152,000 for roads, and more than £100,000 to off-site play areas.

Once the development launches, house-hunters will have the chance to choose from the first plots released for sale and find out more about the homes on offer by booking an appointment to visit.

Sales Manager for Ashberry Homes East Midlands, Steve Smith, said: “These attractive and high-quality homes have been designed to meet the needs of a wide range of people, including first-time buyers, growing families and downsizers.

“The development’s exceptional location off the A61 also makes it a great choice for people commuting to neighbouring towns or Sheffield. It’s just three miles from the market town of Chesterfield and the stunning Peak District National Park is also close by.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming the first visitors to site and helping them find their ideal home here.”
