Beam Park

Countryside and L&Q | Beam Park, East London

Planning consent for the 3,000-home Beam Park regeneration site in East London has been received by Countryside and L&Q. Preparatory works on the site are underway. The development is one of only three regeneration schemes in London delivering 3,000 homes and providing 50% affordable housing. At Beam Park, this equates to 1,513 affordable homes.

Construction will commence this spring and sales of the new homes are due to launch later this year, with the first homes ready in 2020. Phase one of the development, providing 640 new homes, is due to be completed by 2022. Find out more…

Bellway | The Exchange, Chelmsford

A development of around 200 modern apartments on a brownfield site in the centre of Chelmsford is due to open in early 2020. Bellway is launching the scheme – to be called The Exchange – on the former Royal Mail depot site on Victoria Road. The housebuilder plans to build one- and two-bedroom apartments within blocks between three and five storeys high to regenerate the derelict site.

Bellway Essex Head of Sales, Jenny Walker, said: “This will be a great opportunity for us to continue the regeneration of Chelmsford using brownfield land, following on from the success of our current Marconi Evolution site in the city.” It is planned that the first plots will be released for sale in early 2020. Kuropatwa Ltd & TfL | Beechwood Avenue, London

The first site in the Mayor of London’s Small Sites, Small Builders programme has been given the go-ahead by Barnet Council’s planning committee. Beechwood Avenue will deliver 97 homes, with 50 per cent affordable. Brought forward by Transport for London (TfL), work on the Beechwood Avenue site is expected to start by the end of this year, led by contractor and developer Kuropatwa Limited. The development is part of the Mayor of London’s Small Sites, Small Builders initiative.

Oliver Kuropatwa, Director of Land, Planning and Finance Arrangement at Kuropatwa Ltd said: “We are delighted to be working with TFL to deliver around 100 new homes as part of the Mayor of London’s GLA Small Sites Programme.”

Regalpoint Homes | Offham, Kent

Regalpoint Homes has announced the development of two houses coming soon to Offham, Kent. The new homes, which are expected to near completion this autumn, will feature fully fitted kitchens from Kreider, Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware and gas-fired central heating with underfloor heating to living areas.

Thomas Sinden | Chingford

Thomas Sinden has secured the contract to build 30 new residential homes for KAIYANG (London) Real Estate Ltd in Chingford, London. The £6 million contract, which has been designed by 5plus Architects, will feature 30 high quality sustainable homes including five, three-bedroom family dwellings along with social amenity space and car parking.

Des Thomas, Director of Thomas Sinden comments, “In light of the current economic climate, and the need for high quality homes in London and the South East never being greater, we are delighted to have been awarded this contract.” Find out more…

Miller Homes | Imperial Gardens, Southwell

Lambe Construction, a leading civil engineering contractor, has been appointed to work on Miller Homes’ new Southwell scheme in Nottinghamshire. The contract will see the specialist undertake infrastructure works, including: Section 38 adoptable roads, installation of Section 104 drainage, and the formation of sub-structures for 67 new homes.

Michael Lambe, Director, M. Lambe Construction, said: “We are delighted to be appointed as Miller Homes’ civil engineering and groundworks contractor for this exciting new development. We have extensive experience of working on large, complex housing developments and are looking forward to working with Miller Homes to make this development a reality.”

Avant Homes | City Fields, Wakefield

Yorkshire housebuilder Avant Homes has acquired a 17.5-acre parcel of land in Wakefield, where it plans to deliver 224 high-quality new homes, as part of the wider City Fields development. The £60m development, which was formerly a power station, include a selection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.

The housing design mix will vary across Avant Homes’ Original housetype range and its new Bridge range. Subject to planning permission, work is set to commence in July with the overall build expected to take three-and-a-half years. The show village will be completed by August and the first properties ready for occupation towards the end of 2019. Find out more…
