Avant Homes granted planning for 175-home £60m development in Ruddington

Nottingham-based housebuilder Avant Homes has been given the go ahead on a new £60m development in Ruddington, after planning permission was granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council.

Located five miles south of Nottingham City Centre close to Rushcliffe Country Park on Musters Lane, the 15.89-acre development will bring 175 new three, four and five-bedroom homes to the area featuring 12 design-led housetypes including 53 affordable houses.

Groundworks on the new development, called Wilbur Chase, are set to commence in March 2020 with the marketing suite expected to open in May and the showhomes following in July. The overall build is estimated to take just over four years to complete.

Wilbur Chase is ideally situated in the sought-after area of Ruddington with fantastic commuter links to Nottingham, Loughborough, Derby and Leicester. The area boasts a semi-rural setting with a wide array of local facilities, amenities and schools as well as a golf course, nature reserve and recreation ground.

Avant Homes Midlands managing director, Tim Brickley, said: “We are very pleased to have received planning permission for our Wilbur Chase development in Ruddington.

“We have worked closely with Rushcliffe Borough Council and active members of the Ruddington community in order to make suitable amends to our initial proposal and address concerns raised in connection with the development. We will continue to liaise with the council and local residents throughout the build process.

“In addition to providing high-quality properties, the proposal will bring a range of additional benefits to the area including a community contribution in the region of £1.6m towards local education, highway provisions, transport links for the village, healthcare for Ruddington residents and library facilities.

“We hope to commence works soon and expect to see the first homes released for sale in May 2020.”

Based in Nottingham, Avant Homes Midlands is part of the Avant Homes group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK. The group currently has 60 developments across its five operating regions, 13 of which are in the Midlands stretching from Alfreton in Derbyshire to Warwick in the West Midlands.

The group’s next strategic growth objective is to double its output to 4,000 homes a year and become a £1bn turnover business by 2023.

In addition to its Nottingham office, Avant Homes’ other regional businesses are based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Stirling, Scotland and Sunderland in the North East. Avant Homes’ head office is at Junction 30 of the M1, near Sheffield.
