Sam Silcocks, of Harris Lamb, said: “Rugby Radio Station is a strategic site to the south east of Rugby which is allocated in the Rugby Local Plan and is set to deliver in excess of 6,000 dwellings, along with a range of other uses including a secondary school, three primary schools, public open space, community uses, shops, restaurants and cafes, leisure use and commercial and employment floorspace.
“This site is part of the second phase, and we worked closely with Countryside, the Council and the site promoter, Urban & Civic, to ensure the proposal met the complex provisions of the site-wide outline permission.”
Countryside Properties is working in partnership with Midland Heart and Sigma to deliver the scheme.
Sam added: “This is excellent news for the site. The resulting scheme will deliver at least 40% affordable homes and potentially a similar amount of Build-to-Rent homes, in spite of there being no requirement for such tenures stipulated in the outline permission.
Paul Barton, of Countryside Properties, said: “We are delighted that this scheme has been granted approval. The remaining houses at the site will be offered for sale, and the completed development will provide high quality housing across all three tenures to meet the ever increasing demand for new homes throughout the region.”
Groundwork is expected to get underway as soon as possible with the developer aiming to deliver the first homes early next year.
