Macbryde Homes appoints new Head of Development

Simon Finlay joins Macbryde Homes as Head of Development as the housebuilder expands team as business looks to growth.

St Asaph-based housebuilder, Macbryde Homes, which has developments throughout North Wales and the North West of England, has announced the appointment of Simon Finlay to the newly created role of Head of Development.  The appointment comes as the housebuilder looks to increase its market share across the region.

Simon brings with him a wealth of experience in development and regeneration, focused predominantly within the housebuilding sector.  He has worked for market-leaders including Barratt Partnerships and David Wilson Homes and his most recent role was at Galliford Try Partnerships where he acquired land from the Homes & Communities Agency and secured planning approval for the first Starter Homes scheme in the North West.

Speaking of his appointment to Macbryde Homes, Simon commented: “Having worked with a number of very large housebuilders, I am looking forward to bringing my experience and ideas to Macbryde Homes.  This is an exciting time for the business as it seeks to increase its overall output and reach across the North West and Wales and I am delighted to be a part of that.”

Simon will report directly to Macbryde’s Managing Director, Simon Macbryde who commented on the need for Simon’s skills at this stage in the company’s evolution: “Over the last 30 years, Macbryde Homes has successfully built a reputation for quality housebuilding across North Wales and the North West of England and our award-winning properties have been enjoyed by a wide-range of purchasers all of whom have wanted a superior property in a desirable location.

“The ever-increasing need for more quality housing, however, means that we have set our sights on expanding our operations through increased output and a stronger presence in the North West of England. Simon joining the team is central to the success of that vision and his experience will help access land for development across the region and help us realise greater market-share. I don’t doubt that Simon will help to bring the quality, reputation and style of Macbryde Homes to a far greater audience in the coming few years and we’re delighted to have him on board.”
