Leeds developer’s fundraising initiative proves a success

Berkeley DeVeer has managed to raise £7,000 for Children in Need following its latest fundraising initiative.

For every reservation made before Christmas at its Woodhall View development in Pudsey near Leeds, the developer pledged to donate £1,000 to the Children in Need appeal. Berkeley DeVeer was able to secure seven reservations – translating into a £7,000 boost to the appeal’s work.

Managing Director Daniel Newett said: “Pudsey Bear gets his iconic name from his creator, who was originally from the market town of Pudsey right on the development’s doorstep.

“The mascot is arguably the nation’s most recognisable and best-loved characters, helping to raise millions of pounds for children locally, nationally and across the planet each and every year.

“As a home-grown Yorkshire company working in the heart of many of its cities, towns and villages, we are always keen to help support community good causes like this.”

He added: “Because Woodhall View is in Pudsey, it made sense for us this time to throw our weight behind Children in Need.

“We are delighted to have contributed to this year’s record-breaking total for Children in Need – a whopping £50m-plus!”

Woodhall View is the latest development being created in West Leeds to meet rising demand for new homes among the young and old. It features 52 bespoke properties, each with three, four or five bedrooms. Almost one-quarter of the development has already been reserved as the number of sales gathers pace.
