Helping to understand Lot 20

Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation has launched a dedicated new website on the upcoming Lot 20 regulations.

The new website has been designed to help housebuilders get to grips with how the new standard will affect electrical heating appliances.

The website provides comprehensive guidelines on how Lot 20 will affect popular electrical heating appliances including storage heaters, direct acting heaters, portable heaters, radiant heaters and electric fires. It will also explain how the legislation is set to affect individual customer types and provides an online product efficiency calculator tool.

Christian Hadley, Head of Product Marketing at Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation said: “With Lot 20 set to come into force imminently, now is a crucial time for the trade to get up-to-date on what this new regulation means for electrical heating appliances, many of which have been redesigned with smart new features to meet the new regulations.

“As such, we hope our dedicated Lot 20 website will prove to be an essential resource in the coming months as the industry adjusts to tighter efficiency standards that are set to drive the biggest change in electric heating for decades.”

Another feature of the Lot 20 website is a series of frequently asked questions, with hints and tips on how installers can optimise Lot 20-compliant products that come with new, algorithm-driven smart features. The new features will include more advanced controls such as electronic room temperature control with seven-day timer, open window detection, distance control via an app, and adaptive start control to suit the individual requirements of the user.
