CET opens new materials testing lab near Heathrow

A new construction materials testing laboratory has opened its doors close to Heathrow Airport.

CET, a leading provider of materials testing and specialist geotechnical services, has announced the expansion of its nationwide network of laboratory facilities by opeing a new laboratory near Heathrow.

The new facility will see an expansion of the current capacity for concrete, aggregate, asphalt and core testing. Staffed by a team of 15 experienced technicians, it will offer a range of tests associated with construction and infrastructure projects.

The new 2,500 sq ft facility is situated on the Britannia Industrial Estate in Colnbrook and adds to the existing capacity at sister sites in Harrietsham (Kent), Wolvey (Leicestershire), Billericay (Essex), Doncaster and East Kilbride (Scotland).

Peter Eglinton, Chief Executive of CET, explains: “Our customers expect both quality and speed of services, and our new site at Heathrow ensures we continue to provide this as we expand. We now operate with more than 100 technicians across six nationwide sites and are proud that, as we grow, we maintain our focus on our staff and customers.”

In addition to a wider geographical presence, the new facility is an opportunity for the company to bring its technology-led propositions to a broader audience. CETi, an online test results database and analytics tool, will be in use from day one, providing fast access to accurate test results.

A web-based application, the CETi app delivers alerts when results are ready and provides long-term access to archived results. Eglinton adds: “CETi showcases our commitment to technology, allowing fast and easy access to site and lab testing. Customers are already benefiting from the streamlined, transparent reporting that CETi enables.”
