Avant homes has partnered with British Gas to become the first UK housebuilder to offer Hive Active Heating technology as part of its all-inclusive offering.
Hive Active Heating utilises smart wireless technology to give customers control over their heating and hot water from a smart phone or laptop, wherever the user is. A British Gas innovation, Hive Active Heating is designed to help homeowners save money on their energy bills as it means they never need to heat an empty house again.
The technology is being integrated into all new houses being built at Avant Homes’ current developments throughout Scotland, North East England, Yorkshire and the Midlands in 2017.

The Hive wireless thermostat gives purchasers of an Avant Home the ability to manage their energy use with Hive Active Heating if they choose to install The Hive Hub. The hub plugs into a broadband router, and can be controlled through a smartphone, tablet or laptop. It works with any existing energy provider, meaning there is no need to change gas or electricity supplier.
